MathML Version 3

Version 3 of the MathML specification was released as a W3C Recommendation on 20 October 2010. A proposed recommendation of A MathML for CSS Profile has also been published; this is a subset of MathML suitable for CSS formatting. Another subset, Strict Content MathML, provides a subset of content MathML with a uniform structure and is designed to be compatible with OpenMath. Other content elements are defined in terms of a transformation to the strict subset. New content elements include which associates bound variables () to expressions, for example a summation index. The new element allows structure sharing.
