The Maryland Maniacs are a former professional Indoor Football team based in College Park, Maryland. The team was most recently a member of the Indoor Football League. The team began play in 2007 as the Chesapeake Tide as an expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League. The Maniacs were the first indoor football team to be based in the Maryland. The Owner of the Maniacs was Messay Hailermariam. The Maniacs plays its home games at Cole Field House. Inaugural season home games were held at The Show Place Arena. They left the Indoor Football League in 2011, and have been rumored to be in discussion with American Indoor Football about joining their league.
