- 2007 – Zuffa, LLC the parent company that owns the Ultimate Fighting Championship (a mixed martial arts promotion) purchased PRIDE Fighting Championships from Dream Stage Entertainment.
- 2009 – Modern Arnis declared as National sport of the Philippines
