Rugby League
McGaw played his club football for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Penrith Panthers and South Sydney Rabbitohs. He played for Australia in their victory over New Zealand at the 1985–1988 Rugby League World Cup Final in Auckland. At the end of the 1990 NSWRL season, he went on the 1990 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain and France.
