Maritime Square

Maritime Square (Chinese: 青衣城; pinyin: Qīngyīchéng) is a 4-storey shopping centre located on Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. It was built and is owned by the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) in conjunction with the opening of Tsing Yi station. Maritime Square is directly connected to Tierra Verde (盈翠半島; Pinyin: Yíngcuì Bàndǎo), a large housing complex that is also built and developed by the MTRCL.

Opened in 2003, the shopping centre boasts surface area of 46,000 square meters, and contains a Golden Harvest Cinema, numerous restaurants, and many common stores found in area shopping malls, including a Starbucks and a Taste. It also contains a Hong Kong Jockey Centre, which is the first off-course betting branch of Hong Kong Jockey Club to be opened on the island.

The landlords claimed in December 2004 that daily traffic at the mall is 170,000.

Famous quotes containing the word square:

I walked by the Union Square Bar, I was gonna go in. And I saw myself, my reflection in the window. And I thought, “I wonder who that bum is.” And then I saw it was me. Now look at me, I’m a bum. Look at me. Look at you. You’re a bum.
