Marina High School - Athletics

Athletics

Marina's athletic teams are known as the Vikings and the school colors are Navy Blue, Columbia Blue, and Gold. They compete in the Sunset League of the California Interscholastic Federation's (CIF) Southern Section. Marina has no on-campus stadium and plays most of its football home games at nearby Westminster High School.

In 2001, Marina's varsity boys won CIF.

In 2000, Marina's varsity field hockey team played an undefeated season of 13-0 and took both the Sunset League Championship as well as the CIF Championship.

In 2002, the school's gym was renamed "Larry Doyle Gym" in memory of the coach Larry Doyle, who died in 1999 from cancer.

In 2007, Marina Boys Basketball broke the National record for 3 point shots made in a season making 437 three pointers.

in 2011, Marina Color Guard team moved up a division from Regional A too Regional AA and the team went and took home first place at Costa Mesa in their new division
