As Malvar is named after the Filipino American War General of the Katipuna Miguel Malvar a native of Sto Tomas Batangas who belong to the family of the mayor alkalde. General malvars life was fully dedicated to uplift the freedom and democracy of the people against Spaniards American Soldiers. All the guerillas moved in against the American, covering the whole command post in the mountains of Batangas and built spontaneous alliances with the locals which helped them to gain support and gather information for the Filipino Soldiers.
