• The Federal Route 3 became a main route for Japanese Imperial forces from Kota Bharu to Johor Bahru during Battle of Malaya between 1941 and 1942.
• The abandoned British Army bunkers (Sedili Bunkers) during World War II at Jemaluang-Kota Tinggi road.
• The Petronas Oil and Gas Refinery and Sultan Ismail Power Station at Dungun-Kerteh road.
