Governance
The town is part of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, with an urban population of around 80,000. It was previously an independent municipal borough. The current MP for the Maidenhead Constituency is Theresa May (Conservative). May also serves in the Government Cabinet as Home Secretary. The mayor is Councillor Colin Rayner (Conservative).
