Lynbrook Railway Station - Construction

Construction

Plans for the station included:

  • a bus station and taxi rank;
  • car park and kiss-and-ride facilities;
  • two platforms of 160m length;
  • shelters and seating for passengers;
  • ticket machines;
  • displays for timetables and information;
  • CCTV;
  • bicycle facilities; and
  • covered walkways, ramps and stairs.

Construction started in early October 2010. It was expected that approximately 70 people will be involved in construction. Completion was expected in 2011, however due to underbudgeting for electricity for the railway station - the project has been stalled, which delayed the completion of the station until 22 April 2012, when a revised timetable was introduced.
