Lutheran High School West - The Lutheran West Promise

The Lutheran West Promise

In 2011, the school coined the phrase "The Lutheran West Promise" that encompasses six distinct aspects of student life:

  1. Christian Principles: Christian principles are taught and guide every aspect of a student's educational experience.
  2. Rigorous Academics: Students are prepared for both college and life.
  3. Nurturing Community: Each individual is valued and nurtured in a caring Christian community.
  4. Servant Leadership: Opportunities are provided to develop outreach leadership skills.
  5. Challenging Opportunities: Students are involved in a wealth of challenging activities that develop the whole person.
  6. Life Purpose / Vocation: Students are encouraged to begin exploring God's purpose for his/her life.

Through The Lutheran West Promise, students are engaged in a Christian community where each individual has value and is prepared, encouraged and challenged to excel. It is a promise Lutheran West has delivered on for over 50 years.

Famous quotes containing the words west and/or promise:

In their sympathies, children feel nearer animals than adults. They frolic with animals, caress them, share with them feelings neither has words for. Have they ever stroked any adult with the love they bestow on a cat? Hugged any grownup with the ecstasy they feel when clasping a puppy?
    —Jessamyn West (1907–1984)

So far as I am concerned, dear, I promise you that very soon I’ll settle down again and write another long three-volume novel, suitable for the most genteel of young women.
—Jan Read. Robert Day. James Rankin (Boris Karloff)
