Longing Was A Safe Place To Hide

Longing Was a Safe Place to Hide is the second and final full-length album released by Melbourne band Love Outside Andromeda. Overall, it is significantly mellower than their self-titled debut, distancing itself from some of the more frantic songs. Lead single "Bound by Hurt Dissolved" received radio play in late 2005, and later singles "Measuring Tape" and "Sparrow" began to receive play in July–August 2006, closer to the September 2006 release date of the album.

The title Longing Was a Safe Place to Hide is a lyric from the fourth track on the LP, "A Room Full of People".

Famous quotes containing the words longing, safe, place and/or hide:

    Even the pyramids might one day disappear, but not the Palestinians longing for their homeland.
    Eduard Shevardnadze (b. 1927)

    From now on, I think it is safe to predict, neither the Democratic nor the Republican Party will ever nominate for President a candidate without good looks, stage presence, theatrical delivery, and a sense of timing.
    James Thurber (1894–1961)

    Everything necessarily is or is not, and will be or will not be; but one cannot divide and say that one or the other is necessary. I mean, for example: it is necessary for there to be or not to be a sea-battle tomorrow; but it is not necessary for a sea-battle to take place tomorrow, or for one not to take place—though it is necessary for one to take place or not to take place.
    Aristotle (384–322 B.C.)

    Rock of ages, cleft for me,
    Let me hide myself in thee!
    Let the water and the blood,
    From thy riven side which flowed,
    Be of sin the double cure;
    Cleanse me from its guilt and pow’r.
    Augustus Montague Toplady (1740–1778)
