Lonestar - Television Appearances

Television Appearances

In February 2007, all four members of Lonestar competed on separate episodes of Wheel of Fortune during a country music-themed week, in which contestants and country music artists played together. McDonald won $61,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Britt won $59,350 for Adopt-a-Platoon, while Sams and Rainwater won $10,000 each for charities. McDonald previously competed on an identical week in 2003, where his winnings were donated to Habitat for Humanity.

The group appeared on The Price Is Right, serving as the house band on a June 17, 2010 episode. They performed the show's theme song, along with a sample of songs from Party Heard Around the World.

Famous quotes containing the words television and/or appearances:

His [O.J. Simpson’s] supporters lined the freeway to cheer him on Friday and commentators talked about his tragedy. Did those people see the photographs of the crime scene and the great blackening pools of blood seeping into the sidewalk? Did battered women watch all this on television and realize more vividly than ever before that their lives were cheap and their pain inconsequential?
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

What I often forget about students, especially undergraduates, is that surface appearances are misleading. Most of them are at base as conventional as Presbyterian deacons.
    Muriel Beadle (b. 1915)
