In the 2005/2006 season Ljusdal finished bottom of the Allsvenskan Norra, however they managed to come in fifth in the Superallsvenskan and therefore avoided relegation. Unfortunately for Ljusdal the 2006/07 season proved to be the year when they were relegated, a loss against Tillberga on February 14 proved to be the end of the survival hopes.
