Lizmark - Professional Wrestling Career

Professional Wrestling Career

The man who would later become known as Lizmark grew up in Acapulco, and started a career in hotel management. He was trained to be a boxer by his uncle, and made his professional wrestling debut on March 14, 1976. He chose to wear a mask to hide his wrestling identity from his clients and co-workers at the Hilton Hotel. He chose the name "Lizmark", inspired by the German battleship Bismarck he had been fascinated with since childhood. Lizmark quickly became one of the innovators in lucha libre, incorporating flashy, high flying moves into the matches, a style that is common today but in the 1970s was new and exciting.

Famous quotes containing the words professional, wrestling and/or career:

The belief that there are final and immutable answers, and that the professional expert has them, is one that mothers and professionals tend to reinforce in each other. They both have a need to believe it. They both seem to agree, too, that if the professional’s prescription doesn’t work it is probably because of the mother’s inadequacy.
    Elaine Heffner (20th century)

We laugh at him who steps out of his room at the very moment when the sun steps out, and says: “I will the sun to rise”; and at him who cannot stop the wheel, and says: “I will it to roll”; and at him who is taken down in a wrestling match, and says: “I lie here, but I will that I lie here!” And yet, all laughter aside, do we ever do anything other than one of these three things when we use the expression, “I will”?
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

I’ve been in the twilight of my career longer than most people have had their career.
    Martina Navratilova (b. 1956)
