Live at The Grand Opera House Belfast

Live at the Grand Opera House Belfast is the second live album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, released in 1984 (see 1984 in music). It was recorded from the two best out of four live shows in Belfast, Northern Ireland, (Morrison's birthplace) in March 1983 and the album was composed of songs chosen from Morrison's last four recordings.

This album was remastered and reissued by Polydor Records on June 30, 2008. "Rave On John Donne/Rave On Part Two" from this album was listed as one of the standout tracks from the six album reissue.

At these concerts, the song Summertime in England was also recorded and released as a 12 inch single.

Famous quotes containing the words live, grand, opera, house and/or belfast:

We live in an age when to be young and to be indifferent can be no longer synonymous. We must prepare for the coming hour. The claims of the Future are represented by suffering millions; and the Youth of a Nation are the trustees of Posterity.
    Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881)

The great challenge which faces us is to assure that, in our society of big-ness, we do not strangle the voice of creativity, that the rules of the game do not come to overshadow its purpose, that the grand orchestration of society leaves ample room for the man who marches to the music of another drummer.
    Hubert H. Humphrey (1911–1978)

To survive there, you need the ambition of a Latin-American revolutionary, the ego of a grand opera tenor, and the physical stamina of a cow pony.
    Billie Burke (1885–1970)

A mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law in one house are like two cats in a bag.
    Yiddish Proverb.

Is it true or false that Belfast is north of London? That the galaxy is the shape of a fried egg? That Beethoven was a drunkard? That Wellington won the battle of Waterloo? There are various degrees and dimensions of success in making statements: the statements fit the facts always more or less loosely, in different ways on different occasions for different intents and purposes.
