- William Franklin (1731–1813), Governor of New Jersey Colony 1763–1776. Son of Benjamin Franklin.
- Franklin Davenport (1755–1832), member of the New Jersey Legislature, U.S. Senator from New Jersey 1798–1799, U.S. Representative from New Jersey 1799–1801. Nephew of Benjamin Franklin.
