  • Jayantha Jayewardene - Jayantha Jayewardene -Recipient of the Vulnerable Earth Award from the Netherlands. Winner of the Presidential Award for Scientific Research in 2011.Consultant to USAID and the Asian Development Bank. Project Director of the Asian Development Bank funded Wildlife Project in Sri Lanka. Committee member of the committee selected to formulate the National Policy on Elephant Management and Conservation. Consultant to the government of Laos on elephant conservation. Member of the Presidential Task Force on Wildlife Development, the IUCN Asian Elephant Specialists Group. Managing Trustee of the Biodiversity & Elephant Conservation Trust. Editor of Gajah the journal of the Asian Elephant Specialists Group.Editor of Sri Lanka Nature. He has authored three books - The Elephant in Sri Lanka, The Diversity of Sri Lankan Wildlife and Srilankave Ali Athun. (Sinhala) Also former General Manager of the Plantation Management & Investment Company and also General Manager of James Finlay Plantation Holdings, Chairman of the Association of Ex Planters. Resident Project Manager, General Manager and Managing Director- Mahaweli Economic Agency, Director of the State Plantations Corporation and Elkaduwa Plantations, Director of the Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation, the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority, and the Agricultural Insurance Board. Also Advisor to the Ministry of Environment and a with the Consultant Plantation Restructuring Unit. Also Trinity Rugger Captain and Rugby Lion in 1961, captain of the Outstations Schools rugby XV in 1961, captained Upcountry rugby XV, Chairman National Rugby Selection Panel. He was also President of the Old Trinitians Rugby Scrummage, Member of the Board of Governors. Awarded the Night of the Lions Award for excellence in Natural Sciences.

  • Rodney Jonklaas - Naturalist and pioneer diver whom explored the reefs of Ceylon with Sir Arthur. C. Clark and Mike Wilson. This is illustrated in Sir Arthur's Blue Planet Trilogy which consists of Reefs of Taprobane, Coasts of Coral and Treasure of the Great Reef.
  • Dr Channa Bambaradeniya Ph.D (Class of 87) - Senior Environmental Scientist, Tidewater Inc. Formerly at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Asia as the Head of Species and Biodiversity Conservation Programme. Published over 60 scientific literature related to biodiversity conservation, including books, research papers, and articles. Recipient of Sri Lanka Presidential Award for Scientific Research in 2004, and 2006. Recipient of 2004 Night of the Lions Trinity Prize for Natural History. Represented the University of Peradeniya Rugby Team from 1992-1995, and functioned as its Vice Captain in 1994.
