The diverse class is more than likely in the third grade, as Dorothy Ann celebrated her 9th birthday in "Sees Stars", making the class 8 and 9 years old. In the computer game The Magic School Bus Explores the World of Animals, Phoebe mentions that the class is in the third grade. The school is located in Walkerville, USA, seen in Ep. 24, Out of this World. Note that the books include additional students not seen in the TV adaptation (although Rachel, John, Carmen, and Michael made a few cameos). Only eight of Mrs. Frizzle's students appear in every episode and regularly attend field trips. Additionally, Arnold's cousin Janet accompanies them sometimes. The child actors voicing the students often provided the voices of the callers as well.
