List of Single-camera Situation Comedies

In television programming, the situation comedy or sitcom may be recorded using either a multiple-camera setup or a single-camera setup. Single-camera sitcoms are often notable for their enhanced visual style, use of real-world filming locations and in recent years, for not having a laugh track (most single-camera sitcoms from the 1960s contained a laugh track). Some, but not all, single-camera comedy series may also be classified as comedy-drama, a genre which blends comedic and dramatic elements; however, the distinction between a single-camera sitcom and a comedy-drama series is based on the show's content, not its form.

Famous quotes containing the words list of, list and/or situation:

Thirty—the promise of a decade of loneliness, a thinning list of single men to know, a thinning brief-case of enthusiasm, thinning hair.
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)

Modern tourist guides have helped raised tourist expectations. And they have provided the natives—from Kaiser Wilhelm down to the villagers of Chichacestenango—with a detailed and itemized list of what is expected of them and when. These are the up-to- date scripts for actors on the tourists’ stage.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)

The ex-Presidential situation has its advantages, but with them are certain drawbacks. The correspondence is large. The meritorious demands on one are large. More independent out than in place, but still something of the bondage of the place that was willingly left. On the whole, however, I find many reasons to be content.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
