Samurai Pizza Cats was originally made in Japan by Tatsunoko Pro. as "Kyattou Ninden Teyandee" (キャッ党忍伝てやんでえ). 54 episodes aired from 1 February 1990 to 12 February 1991 on TV Tokyo.
52 series was dubbed into English and introduced to the western audience by Saban as Samurai Pizza Cats. The two untranslated episodes (10 and 51) were clip shows that did little to further the series' plot.
Due to censorship, only 40 episodes aired in the USA. Show aired from 3 September 1990 to 13 November 1990 in syndication .
