Dale James Outhouse

In 1984, peace activist Dale James Outhouse walked some 4,500 miles (7,200 km) from Point Conception, CA, to New York City through the Deep South. He was one of the founders of Walk of the People - A Pilgrimage for Life, a walk that raised awareness for improving U.S.-Soviet Union relations, and the only participant to cover the entire distance in the United States.
