500-yard Games

  • Matt Schaub 527 yards

None of these games ranks in the top ten for yards per attempt in a game with 400 or more passing yards. The teams with the 500-yard passer have lost six of the fourteen games. Y. A. Tittle (NY Giants) had perhaps the most prolific yardage and passing touchdown game in NFL history, when on October 28, 1962, he passed for 505 yards and 7 touchdowns against the Washington Redskins in a 49–34 victory. Boomer Esiason is the only left handed passer to have thrown for 500 yards. No player has ever passed for 500 yards more than once.
