List of New York City Subway Inter-division Connections - Non-revenue Connections

Non-revenue Connections

These connections mainly take place in yards:

  • Crossover tracks (with third-rails) between northbound IRT Flushing Line and BMT Astoria Line at Queensboro Plaza (the Flushing Line's only connection to the rest of the system, originates from when both lines north of Queensboro Plaza were dual-operated)
  • IRT New Lots Line and BMT Canarsie Line both have a single non-electrified track into the Linden Shops. The track leaves the New Lots Line at Junius Street and joins the track from Canarsie line south of Livonia Avenue before arriving in the Linden complex
  • IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line and IND Eighth Avenue Line both have tracks to 207th Street Yard
  • IRT Jerome Avenue Line and IND Concourse Line both have tracks to Concourse Yard
  • Since October 30, 1954, the IND Culver Line has gone into Coney Island – Stillwell Avenue, where it connects to the BMT Brighton Line, BMT Sea Beach Line and BMT West End Line. For a short time in the late 1960s the NX service passed through Coney Island – Stillwell Avenue to and from the Sea Beach and Brighton Lines, but no service has passed through from the Culver Line.

Famous quotes containing the word connections:

The conclusion suggested by these arguments might be called the paradox of theorizing. It asserts that if the terms and the general principles of a scientific theory serve their purpose, i. e., if they establish the definite connections among observable phenomena, then they can be dispensed with since any chain of laws and interpretive statements establishing such a connection should then be replaceable by a law which directly links observational antecedents to observational consequents.
    —C.G. (Carl Gustav)
