Phil Urich, also known as the Green Goblin and the Hobgoblin is a supporting character of Spider-Man in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by Terry Kavanagh and Steven Butler, the character first appeared in Web of Spider-Man #125 (June 1995). In the context of the stories, Phil is the nephew of Ben Urich. He stumbles upon Norman Osborn's old Green Goblin hideout and adopts the identity, but operates as a superhero. His glider is eventually damaged, and he retires the identity. Years later, he returns as a supervillain using the Hobgoblin identity.
