This is a list of the U.S. Billboard magazine Hot 100 number-ones of 1993. There were ten singles that topped the chart this year. Although eleven singles reached number one this calendar year, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston began its peak position the previous year and is thus excluded. The two longest running number-one singles of 1993 are "That's the Way Love Goes" by Janet Jackson and "Dreamlover" by Mariah Carey, which both logged eight weeks at the top each. Although "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston logged nine weeks at number-one in 1993, it initially started its run in 1992 and so is excluded from the list of singles which reached number-one in 1993.

Famous quotes containing the words list, hot, number-one:
“Every morning I woke in dread, waiting for the day nurse to go on her rounds and announce from the list of names in her hand whether or not I was for shock treatment, the new and fashionable means of quieting people and of making them realize that orders are to be obeyed and floors are to be polished without anyone protesting and faces are to be made to be fixed into smiles and weeping is a crime.”
—Janet Frame (b. 1924)
“I am ashamed
That thou hast power to shake my manhood thus,
That these hot tears, which break from me perforce,
Should make thee worth them.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“Im your number-one fan.”
—William Goldman (b. 1931)
