List of Hollyoaks Characters (2008) - Max McQueen

Maxwell Anthony Dominic "Max" McQueen is the baby son of Tina Reilly and Russ Owen. He is named after Max Cunningham, who died in June 2008. He was to be adopted by Tony Hutchinson and Jacqui McQueen, due to Jacqui's infertility. Tina and Dom kept him. Afterwards, Tina decided to give him to Tony and Jacqui as intended, after Jacqui threatened to out Tina's encounter with Russ. On 25 March, Tina, having her 12-week pre-natal scan, was told by a doctor that she was 15 weeks pregnant and therefore must have been conceived on the night she and Russ Owen had a one-night stand. Tina confessed to Jacqui, who was furious. Jacqui convinced her to keep quiet, telling her that otherwise both their relationships would be in ruins. Tina's secret brother, Niall Rafferty pushed her down stairs and she was taken to hospital where the baby went through caesarean. Max was given to Tony and Jacqui. Tina received an emergency hysterectomy, making her unable to have children. Myra McQueen and Dominic Reilly tried to persuade Jacqui and Tony to give Max back to Tina. Jacqui blackmailed Tina by saying that she would tell everyone about Tina and Russ's affair, she then handed Max over. Tina secretly began breastfeeding Max while baby-sitting. Eventually she was caught. Tina decided she wanted to raise Max and did so. Soon after this, Jacqui and Tony split up. Tina and Jacqui's relationship became very strained. On 25 September, a day before starting a new life with Caroline Cooper, Tina revealed to Russ that he was the father of Max. On 26 September, while preparing to leave, Tina convinced Russ to stay. Russ and Tina then started a relationship, but Tina seemed more in love him than Russ was with her. On 13 October, Tina, leaving with Max after walking out on Russ, was approached by Niall who then kidnapped her. Niall took Max to Myra's house and left him outside on her doorstep, with a note that mirrors the one she left with a newborn Niall. Niall had taken all the McQueens hostage in a church before blowing it up, which ended up killing Tina. Jacqui decided she would raise Max, as planned, she promised Russ he could come over and see Max any time he wanted. In 2009, Jacqui stopped Russ seeing Max. Russ decided to apply for full custody of Max but Jacqui would not allow him a paternity test to prove that he was the father, feeling desperate, he then decided to run away with him and Nancy Hayton. Nancy did not want to "kidnap" Max. On 2 June, Russ, who had found Nancy in bed with Kris Fisher, decided to leave. He visited Carmel and then took Max. Carmel saw him but decided to let him go. On 3 June, Jacqui returned and was worried over Max's whereabouts. She then discovered his passport had been taken. Meanwhile Russ, Max and Justin Burton left together.
