List Of Greater London Boundary Changes

There have been a considerable number of small changes to the Greater London boundary since its creation in 1965. The most significant of these were the 1969 transfers of Knockholt to Kent, and of Farleigh and Hooley to Surrey, and a series of minor adjustments during the 1990s which realigned the boundary to the M25 motorway in some places.

    Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893–1930)

There is no greater sorrow than to recall a happy time in the midst of wretchedness.
    Dante Alighieri (1265–1321)

Last night, party at Lansdowne-House. Tonight, party at Lady Charlotte Greville’s—deplorable waste of time, and something of temper. Nothing imparted—nothing acquired—talking without ideas—if any thing like thought in my mind, it was not on the subjects on which we were gabbling. Heigho!—and in this way half London pass what is called life.
    George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)

“Cursed be anyone who moves a neighbor’s boundary marker.” All the people shall say, “Amen!”
