Western Xia
- Princess Yinchuan (traditional Chinese: 銀川公主; simplified Chinese: 银川公主; Mandarin Pinyin: Yínchuān Gōngzhǔ; Jyutping: Ngan4-cyun1 Gung1-zyu2) is a princess of Western Xia who marries Xuzhu. Her name is Li Qinglu (Chinese: 李清露; Mandarin Pinyin: Lǐ Qīnglù; Jyutping: Lei5 Cing1-lou6) in the latest revision of the novel. She was abducted by Tianshan Tonglao and brought to make love with Xuzhu every night, as part of Tianshan Tonglao's attempt to tempt Xuzhu into breaking the Buddhist code of conduct. She has never clearly seen Xuzhu's appearance and only knows him as her "dream lover". She later asks her father to send out an invitation calling for jianghu martial artists to attend a contest to win her hand-in-marriage, while secretly hoping that her "dream lover" will show up. Xuzhu really participates in the contest and she recognises him when he gives the correct response to her question.
- Helian Tieshu (traditional Chinese: 赫連鐵樹; simplified Chinese: 赫连铁树; Mandarin Pinyin: Hèlián Tiěshù; Jyutping: Hak1-lin4 Tit3-syu6) is the "East Conquering General" (徵東將軍) of Western Xia. He is also in charge of First Class Hall (一品堂), an organisation founded in Western Xia to recruit martial artists as mercenaries.
