List of Coronation Street Characters (2007) - Kayleigh Morton

Kayleigh Morton, played by Jessica Barden, arrives on Coronation Street on 18 March 2007 with her dad Jerry (Michael Starke), granddad Wilf (Rodney Litchfield) and siblings Jodie (Samantha Seager), Mel (Emma Edmondson) and Darryl (Jonathan Dixon). Shortly after arriving, she announces that she wants to return to live with her mother Teresa Bryant (Karen Henthorn), and Jerry reluctantly agrees. Teresa later goes away on holiday and leaves Kayleigh alone to look after her six year old half-brother Finlay whilst she is away. As a result, Kayleigh and Finlay both come to live with Jerry. Kayleigh is furious when she discovers Jodie has stolen Chesney Brown's (Sam Aston) dog Schmeichel as part of a feud with Chesney's mother Cilla Battersby-Brown (Wendi Peters). She returns the dog to Chesney. The two go on to kiss in August 2008. Kayleigh is devastated to learn that her mother has been poisoning her father and orders her to leave along with her siblings Darryl and Mel the following month. In April 2008, Kayleigh and the rest of the Mortons were axed from the show by producer Kim Crowther, departing in Autumn 2008.

In September 2008, Kayleigh is last seen waving out of a taxi window as she departs Weatherfield for a new life in Spain with her father and Finlay.
