Species Not Admitted To Turkish List
Some species that have been claimed to occur Turkey are not included with the main list, because of the species records being published without a description, lack of supportive details, or the source being unreliable. Some of these species were in old Turkish lists but because of taxonomial changes these species have been removed too, e.g. it was known that Herring Gull L. argentatus have occurred in Turkey, but now Caspian Gull L. cachinnans have become a separate species, it is now known that old Herring Gull records belonged to the Caspian Gulls.
