Note:
- Although listed alphabetically, some of the same acts appeared at number one under different names. For example, 'Cliff Richard' had seven number ones, while 'Cliff Richard and The Drifters' had one number one, 'Cliff Richard and the Shadows' had six number ones and 'The Shadows' had five number ones.
- Many acts on this list may only be backing singers, additional vocalists, guest vocalists, instrumentalists and so on. Therefore, they might be uncredited on the main artist's records, in reference guides, web pages etc.
