  • uhuy (ウフイ) - to burn
  • uk (ウク) - to take, to acquire, to receive, to accept
    • uyna (ウイナ) - to take, to receive, to collect
  • uku (ウク) - to blow
  • umma (ウンマ) - horse (cf. Japanese うま uma "horse")
  • una (ウナ), uyna (ウイナ) - ashes
    • unakutausi (ウナクタウシ) - a place where one disposes of ashes
  • unarpe (ウナルペ) - aunt; middle-aged woman
  • unci (ウンチ) - fire (mainly in Sakhalin dialects)
  • upas (ウパㇱ) - snow (also オパㇱ opas in some dialects)
  • urar (ウララ) - fog, clouds, mist, vapor
  • usis (ウシㇱ) - hoof
  • utari (ウタリ) - friend, companion, compatriot; relatives, kin; used by the Ainu to describe themselves, the politically correct term for the Ainu people; a suffix for marking the plural number (also ウタラ utar)
