Lily Was Here

"Lily Was Here" is a single, released in November 1989, from the soundtrack of the Dutch movie De Kassière.

David A. Stewart invited Candy Dulfer, who had not previously released any of her material, to play the saxophone on this song. The single became a major hit and stayed at the #1 position for five weeks in The Netherlands. Because of this success, the single was also released in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States where it became a hit as well, reaching number six in the UK and even rising to number eleven in the tough U.S. market. The success of this song encouraged Dulfer to write her own album Saxuality, which this song also appeared on.

Famous quotes containing the word lily:

I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys. As a lily among brambles, so is my love among maidens. As an apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among young men. With great delight I sat in his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
Bible: Hebrew, Song of Solomon 2:1-3.
