Legislative Districts of Tarlac

The Legislative Districts of Tarlac, namely the first, second and third districts, are the representations of the Province of Tarlac in the Philippine House of Representatives. The province was divided into two legislative districts until 1972. It was part of the representation of Region III from 1978 to 1984, and from 1984 to 1986 it elected 2 assemblymen at-large. In 1986, it was redistricted into three legislative districts.

Famous quotes containing the words legislative and/or districts:

However much we may differ in the choice of the measures which should guide the administration of the government, there can be but little doubt in the minds of those who are really friendly to the republican features of our system that one of its most important securities consists in the separation of the legislative and executive powers at the same time that each is acknowledged to be supreme, in the will of the people constitutionally expressed.
    Andrew Jackson (1767–1845)

Cities need old buildings so badly it is probably impossible for vigorous streets and districts to grow without them.... for really new ideas of any kind—no matter how ultimately profitable or otherwise successful some of them might prove to be—there is no leeway for such chancy trial, error and experimentation in the high-overhead economy of new construction. Old ideas can sometimes use new buildings. New ideas must use old buildings.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)
