Responsibility For Learning and Skills
Funding of provision is subject to frequent change. The former Learning and Skills Council (2001-2010) was replaced by the Skills Funding Agency (still operating April 2012)and the Young People's Learning Agency (now closed and incorporated into the Education Funding Agency from April 2012). It is wise to consult government department websites - Department for Education, and DBIS, to get an up to date view.

Famous quotes containing the words responsibility for, learning and/or skills:
“If you could choose your parents,... we would rather have a mother who felt a sense of guiltat any rate who felt responsible, and felt that if things went wrong it was probably her faultwed rather have that than a mother who immediately turned to an outside thing to explain everything, and said it was due to the thunderstorm last night or some quite outside phenomenon and didnt take responsibility for anything.”
—D.W. Winnicott (20th century)
“Professors could silence me then; they had figures, diagrams, maps, books.... I was learning that books and diagrams can be evil things if they deaden the mind of man and make him blind or cynical before subjection of any kind.”
—Agnes Smedley (18901950)
“Some parents were awful back then and are awful still. The process of raising you didnt turn them into grown-ups. Parents who were clearly imperfect can be helpful to you. As you were trying to grow up despite their fumbling efforts, you had to develop skills and tolerances other kids missed out on. Some of the strongest people I know grew up taking care of inept, invalid, or psychotic parentsbut they know the parents werent normal, healthy, or whole.”
—Frank Pittman (20th century)
