Lake Ibsen

Lake Ibsen is a small lake near Leeds in Benson County, North Dakota, USA. The stream Little Coulee flows from Hurricane Lake, through Lake Ibsen, to Silver Lake. Lake Ibsen got its name from Norwegian settlers.

Famous quotes containing the words lake and/or ibsen:

The best quality tea must have creases like the leathern boot of Tartar horsemen, curl like the dewlap of a mighty bullock, unfold like a mist rising out of a ravine, gleam like a lake touched by a zephyr, and be wet and soft like a fine earth newly swept by rain.
    Lu Yu (d. 804)

What in fact have I achieved, however much it may seem? Bits and pieces ... trivialities. But here they won’t tolerate anything else, or anything more. If I wanted to take one step in advance of the current views and opinions of the day, that would put paid to any power I have. Do you know what we are ... those of us who count as pillars of society? We are society’s tools, neither more nor less.
    —Henrik Ibsen (1828–1906)
