Kwaleen Elementary School - Schools

Schools

The district has a number of Elementary/Junior schools located in more remote rural areas. These allow learners to continue to study close to their homes. They cater for students in grades 8 and 9, with the opportunity to include grade 10 leaners if demand exists.

School enrollment varies between very low numbers - as low as 15 students enrolled at some of the more remote elementary schools in September 2011 - to over 800 students at Columneetza Secondary School.

Famous quotes containing the word schools:

Universal suffrage should rest upon universal education. To this end, liberal and permanent provision should be made for the support of free schools by the State governments, and, if need be, supplemented by legitimate aid from national authority.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Our good schools today are much better than the best schools of yesterday. When I was your age and a pupil in school, our teachers were our enemies.
Can any thing ... be more painful to a friendly mind, than a necessity of communicating disagreeable intelligence? Indeed it is sometimes difficult to determine, whether the relator or the receiver of evil tidings is most to be pitied.
    Frances Burney (1752–1840)

If the women of the United States, with their free schools and all their enlarged liberties, are not superior to women brought up under monarchical forms of government, then there is no good in liberty.
    Anna Howard Shaw (1847–1919)
