News Operation
In total (as of June 2012), KRON presently broadcasts a total of 55½ hours of local news each week (10½ hours on weekdays, 4½ hours on Saturdays and 3½ hours on Sundays), the most of any local television station in the state of California, as well as the third of any television station in the United States (behind Fox station WSVN in Miami, Florida, which carries 61½ hours of local news per week) and the third most of any television station in North America (also behind independent station CHCH in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, which carries 76½ hours of local news per week).
