Krispy Kreme opened its first store in Dominican territory at the Winston Churchill Avenue in Santo Domingo in July 2010. It has been a popular place among Dominicans. Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation first franchisee store, with Dominspec, S.A. opened its first Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in the Dominican Republic on Aug 24 2010. The first of a programmed 14 stores on the first phase of future expansion in the whole country. So far to date the franchise has opened 3 stores in the Santo Domingo area with another one slate to open later on 2012 in Santiago city.
