In Nepal the Koirala family (Nepali: कोईराला बंश) refers to a Nepali family which has played dominant role in Nepalese politics. Most of the family members have remained prominent figures in Nepali Congress party since the country's first democratic movement. Three members of the family, all brothers (Matrika Prasad Koirala, Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, Girija Prasad Koirala) have been Prime Minister of Nepal. However, many members of the family have joined other political parties as well.
