Kobe Sports Park Baseball Stadium

Kobe Sports Park Baseball Stadium (神戸総合運動公園野球場, Kōbe Sōgō-Undō-Kōen Yakyūjō?) is a baseball park in Kobe Sports Park, Kobe, Japan. It is primarily used for baseball, and was the home field of the Orix Buffaloes. The stadium opened on March 6, 1988 and holds 35,000 people. Previously, Orix had played at Hankyu Nishinomiya Stadium and they are currently playing in Osaka Dome.

This ballpark is mainly used by Orix Buffaloes and Hanshin Tigers (only if Koshien Stadium is in maintenance). But they also host several games for both leagues.

This ballpark is one of two ballparks in Japan to have an American-style baseball field: An all-grass outfield and infield, with dirt basepaths.

Famous quotes containing the words sports, park, baseball and/or stadium:

In the past, it seemed to make sense for a sportswriter on sabbatical from the playpen to attend the quadrennial hawgkilling when Presidential candidates are chosen, to observe and report upon politicians at play. After all, national conventions are games of a sort, and sports offers few spectacles richer in low comedy.
    Walter Wellesley (Red)

    and the words never said,
And the ominous, ominous dancing ahead.
We sat in the car park till twenty to one
And now I’m engaged to Miss Joan Hunter Dunn.
    Sir John Betjeman (1906–1984)

The salary cap ... will be accepted about the time the 13 original states restore the monarchy.
Tom Reich, U.S. baseball agent. New York Times, p. 16B (August 11, 1994)

In their eyes I have seen
the pin men of madness in marathon trim
race round the track of the stadium pupil.
    Patricia K. Page (b. 1916)
