In 2009, the museum announced plans for the permanent installation of a sculpture in glass to be created by artist Richard Jolley. The sculpture will cover the museum's Great Hall, an area 100 feet long by 40 feet wide, making it one of the nations largest artworks made of glass. The sculpture is still in its early stages of design. No date has been set for completion.

Famous quotes containing the word collection:

It’s rather grisly, isnt it, how soon a living man becomes nothing more than a collection of stocks and bonds and debts and real estate?
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

We’ll never know the worth of water till the well go dry.
18th-century Scottish proverb, collected in James Kelly, Complete Collection of Scottish Proverbs, no. 351 (1721)

The Nature of Familiar Letters, written, as it were, to the Moment, while the Heart is agitated by Hopes and Fears, on Events undecided, must plead an Excuse for the Bulk of a Collection of this Kind. Mere Facts and Characters might be comprised in a much smaller Compass: But, would they be equally interesting?
    Samuel Richardson (1689–1761)
