Popular Culture
The advertising slogan "What would you do for a Klondike bar?" has been subject of much parody and many references in popular culture.
- The expression "What Would Jesus do for a Klondike Bar?" parodistically combines the motto "What would Jesus do?" and the slogan "What would you do for a Klondike bar?", has become an internet meme. Several websites sell t-shirts with this expression, including Cafepress and T-Shirt Hell. YTMND also features clips and images based on it.
- During the summer of 2008 Klondike worked with Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone of The Lonely Island, who created a series of digital shorts in conjunction with the "What would you do for a Klondike Bar?" national video contest. The contest challenged Americans to respond to the brand's iconic question by submitting videos for the chance to win a cash prize and a trip to meet The Lonely Island for a digital short consultation.

Famous quotes containing the words popular and/or culture:
“It is said the city was spared a golden-oak period because its residents, lacking money to buy the popular atrocities of the nineties, necessarily clung to their rosewood and mahogany.”
—Administration in the State of Sout, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
“Here is this vast, savage, howling mother of ours, Nature, lying all around, with such beauty, and such affection for her children, as the leopard; and yet we are so early weaned from her breast to society, to that culture which is exclusively an interaction of man on man,a sort of breeding in and in, which produces at most a merely English nobility, a civilization destined to have a speedy limit.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
