Klemme Community School - School Information

School Information

The team nickname and school mascot was the Shamrocks. Some histories indicate this was not the original nickname and that earlier teams were known as the Vagabonds. The school colors were Kelly green and white, and the school song was "On Wisconsin". The Athletic conference was North Star for most of the school's history, although in its early years Klemme High would either compete against other Hancock County, Iowa teams or in a long-gone prep league known as the Seven Eagles Conference.

Famous quotes containing the words school and/or information:

Nevertheless, no school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children’s best interests. Parents have every right to understand what is happening to their children at school, and teachers have the responsibility to share that information without prejudicial judgment.... Such communication, which can only be in a child’s interest, is not possible without mutual trust between parent and teacher.
    Dorothy H. Cohen (20th century)

English literature is a kind of training in social ethics.... English trains you to handle a body of information in a way that is conducive to action.
    Marilyn Butler (b. 1937)
