Kivett Hall - Future

Future

The building, though renovated in 1993, has suffered structural decline since 2005. A number of alumni and concerned citizens of the Buies Creek community have organized meetings to debate the future of the building, but a final decision of its fate has not yet been determined by the University. The future use of the building by the University is now undetermined following the October 4, 2007 announcement that the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law will be moving to downtown Raleigh, North Carolina by the fall of 2009.

Kivett Hall is currently being renovated.

Famous quotes containing the word future:

Today democracy, liberty, and equality are words to fool the people. No nation can progress with such ideas. They stand in the way of action. Therefore we frankly abolish them. In the future each man will serve the interest of the state with absolute obedience. Let him who refuses beware.
    Charlie Chaplin (1889–1977)

Common sense should tell us that reading is the ultimate weapon—destroying ignorance, poverty and despair before they can destroy us. A nation that doesn’t read much doesn’t know much. And a nation that doesn’t know much is more likely to make poor choices in the home, the marketplace, the jury box and the voting booth...The challenge, therefore, is to convince future generations of children that carrying a book is more rewarding than carrying guns.
    Jim Trelease (20th century)

Peace does not appear so distant as it did. I hope it will come soon, and come to stay; and so come as to be worth the keeping in all future time. It will then have been proved that, among free men, there can be no successful appeal from the ballot to the bullet; and that they who take such appeal are sure to lose their case, and pay the cost.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)
