Kirat Singh Moved To Dhaulpur
Gohad was handed over to Marathas under a revised treaty dated 22 November 1805 between Marathas and Britishers. Under this treaty Gohad ruler Rana Kirat Singh was given Dhaulpur, Badi and Rajakheda in exchange for Gohad. Rana Kirat Singh moved to Dhaulpur in December 1805. Maharaja Kirat Singh ruled Dhaulpur up to 1836. He died in 1836 ( on baishakh sudi 5 samvat 1892). Thus he was the first Rana ruler of Dhaulpur. He had two sons namely, Rana Pohap Singh and Rana Bhagwant Singh. His successor was Rana Pohap Singh.

Famous quotes containing the words singh and/or moved:
“Too much rain is not good,
nor too much sun.
Too much talking is not good,
nor too much silence.”
—Punjabi proverb, trans. by Gurinder Singh Mann.
“The most intellectual of men are moved quite as much by the circumstances which they are used to as by their own will. The active voluntary part of a man is very small, and if it were not economised by a sleepy kind of habit, its results would be null.”
—Walter Bagehot (18261877)
