King Edward VI Camp Hill School For Girls - Curriculum

Curriculum

All students study ICT long-course GCSE, and AS Computing is offered as a GCSE option. Year 11 students either take GCSE statistics or an FSMQ in additional maths. The school is located on Vicarage Road, adjacent to the boys' school. The school also promotes Maths and IT locally, and has recently worked with Brownies and a local charity to offer IT classes for adult learners. Pupils from local primary schools are invited into school and have taken part in various maths activities and ICT activities. Staff from the school go out and work in neighbouring primary and secondary schools. There are maths days for pupils in Year 7 and 8, along with enrichment sessions for the brightest mathematicians in KS3. An Information Technology block can accommodate sixty pupils. A new science and geography block was opened in April 2010, named the 'learning hub', or often just the 'hub'.

Famous quotes containing the word curriculum:

If we focus exclusively on teaching our children to read, write, spell, and count in their first years of life, we turn our homes into extensions of school and turn bringing up a child into an exercise in curriculum development. We should be parents first and teachers of academic skills second.
    Neil Kurshan (20th century)
