The majority of the tribes dwelling in Khalabat Township are of Pakhtoon background, irrespective of their language. Tanoli, Tahir Kheli, Dilazak, Dawlatzai, Utmanzai (tribe), Lala Khel, Khan Khel, Yousafzai, Tareen, Jadoon,and Shilmani are the Pakhtoon tribes who either speak Hindko or Pashto, and follow the Pashtunwali. The non-Pakhtoon tribes are: Syeds, Gujjars, Quraishi, Abbasi, Awans, Shiekh and others.
