History
The original competition organised in Kent was the Kent Badge won in its three year history by Chatham. This competition was replaced by the Kent Senior Cup in 1889. Between 1894 and 1897 the cup was awarded to the Kent League champions. Past winners of the Kent Senior Cup include Royal Arsenal (now Arsenal) in 1889–90, and Gillingham in 1945–46 and 1947–48; the two sides are now members of the Premier League and Football League respectively. The 2005–06 and 2006–07 winners were Bromley. In the 2005–06 final, Bromley defeated Gravesend and Northfleet 3–2 after extra time on April 27 2006. In the 2006–07 final, Bromley defeated Tonbridge Angels 3–1 on July 24 2007.
The 2007–08 winners were Ebbsfleet United, formerly Gravesend and Northfleet, beating Cray Wanderers 4–0 on the 26th July 2008. It was the seventh time that Ebbsfleet United had won the competition. The final was played on July 26 2008 during the 2008–09 pre-season due to end-of-season fixture congestion for both sides. In the 2009–10 tournament Sittingbourne went on to play Folkestone Invicta at folkestones ground winning 3–1 in the final, beating opponents from higher divisions on their way Bromley (away) Tonbridge Angels (away) Cray Wanderers (away) in the semi-final.
The 2010–11 Cup was won by Dartford who beat Bromley 4–1 at Princes Park on May 2nd 2011 in front of 2,025 spectators. Video Highlights of match

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“He wrote in prison, not a History of the World, like Raleigh, but an American book which I think will live longer than that. I do not know of such words, uttered under such circumstances, and so copiously withal, in Roman or English or any history.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The history of this country was made largely by people who wanted to be left alone. Those who could not thrive when left to themselves never felt at ease in America.”
—Eric Hoffer (19021983)
“The principle that human nature, in its psychological aspects, is nothing more than a product of history and given social relations removes all barriers to coercion and manipulation by the powerful.”
—Noam Chomsky (b. 1928)
